You may choose to track inventory or not track inventory for your items. If there is a finite number available, you would elect to track inventory. If there is unlimited stock, or it’s a one-of-a-kind or made-to-order item, you can choose not to track inventory.
If you choose to track inventory, you can assign a value at this stage. The inventory will show as ‘Quantity’ on your product summary page in the Seller Portal. If you do not track your inventory it will show as zero (0) and remain as zero. Note that you will have the opportunity to adjust inventory levels on the product variant level in the next set of steps.
Another way to keep track of inventory is to assign a Product ID
This is an optional field that allows Sellers to assign their own identifier for the product. If you use SKUs, or some other method, to identify your products internally, you may enter it here. Our system will automatically assign a SKU that is specific to AnytownUSA and is separate and unique from a Seller’s identifier.
If you choose to create Variants, you can Edit or Delete them by clicking on the three dots in the Action column that are next to the Variant you want to edit or delete. Edit features include: Option Values, Price and Sale Price, Product ID, Inventory, and Shipping Weight (which you may recall is only needed if you are basing your shipping fees on weight).
